On Tuesday, 2nd July 2013, the European Commission organized a full-day workshop on FI-PPP and Startup Europe in an effort to bring both communities together to support web entrepreneurship and innovation in Europe. A large audience of accelerators, co-working spaces, start-up associations, capital providers and research institutes showed up in Brussels to learn how they can be involved in Call 3 of the FI-PPP and meet potential project partners.

After the introduction of the objectives and process of call 3 and the presentation of the mission and organisation of Startup Europe, several organisations from different backgrounds, such as Betacowork, Vigo Venture Accelerators, Caphorn Invest, and others had the opportunity to present their case and call to action. Furthermore, Startup Europe launched the Accelerator Assembly, an industry-led network that connects accelerators, entrepreneurs and policy makers, in order to strengthen the support offered to web startups across Europe.
