FI-PPP is rolling in Luxembourg spreading out the message of its key objectives, partners and funding schemes. Corporate, government and academia representatives gather in Luxembourg as Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce hosts the 2nd European Summit on the Future Internet.
The agenda constitutes of ICT policy framework, technology dimensions, safety, commercialisation and services. Most recent ICT initiative, FI-PPP is also one of the key topics. Based on Vice-President of the Commission, Mrs. Neelie Kroes’ video message and Mr. Mario Campolargo’s policy analysis, each programmes and use-cases of FI-PPP will be presented in details. In the concluding panel discussion, use-cases are asked to elaborate their preliminary experience on FI-PPP, use-case integration, return of investment, market potential and outcome evaluation. The conference will also present the Future Internet Summit Award.
In the conference it is highlighted that FI-PPP encourages open architecture, shared information and open cooperation within its multi-level stakeholders. Many presentations share the view that Future Internet has the potential to become a highly effective framework for shared platforms and services for all. Our challenge is however to ensure that its best features can really be utilised within all Europeans, taking into account e.g. the need for easy and safe access as well as personal data security.
European companies already experience heavy competition in ICT market areas, and therefore customer-oriented business development approach is an imperative for success and growth. To strengthen industrial competitiveness, the move must be from technology and products to end-user participation and services.
